The Insect Story: The Last Hatch” is a touching animated adventure produced by Tatsunoko Productions in 1970.

Separated from his mother by a wasp attack, Hutch, a young honeybee, sets out on a journey to find her.

In the vast nature, Hutch meets many insects and develops friendships with them, but sometimes faces betrayal and harsh realities.

His struggles to survive with his small body struck a chord with viewers and brought tears to their eyes. Hutch’s journey is never easy and he is at the mercy of the laws of nature and the threat of wasps, but his strong feelings of love for his mother sustain him.

This work, which depicts the preciousness of life, the bond between parent and child, and mutual help among friends, deeply moved not only children but also adults, and has been passed down through the generations as a masterpiece in the history of Japanese animation.

As a manga artist, his most famous work is "Hit & Run," serialized in Shonen Sunday. His biggest worry in life is that he has a lot of unpublished works that are not being seen by anyone.
